All physicians in the joint practice are elective physicians.
Elective physicians are private physicians in private practice who do not have a contract with the statutory health insurance funds, but who base their fees on the health insurance fund rates. Upon presentation of the paid medical bill, the statutory health insurers reimburse up to 80 percent of the fee that would have been incurred according to the fee schedule of the respective health insurer for contract physicians.
Private supplementary outpatient insurances reimburse the remainder of the doctor’s fee, depending on the contract.
